When I was younger…

If I could give my teenage self one bit of advice, what would it be:

Make the absolute most of being at school!! There’s so many resources and it’s all free. Once you leave school things get so expensive

My favourite part of being a teenager was:

There were so many firsts! You’re just constantly doing new things as a teenager… Like learning how to drive, starting your first job, going to your first party, being in your first relationship! All moments that lead to great stories.

My dream job as a teen was:

To be honest, being on What Now! I watched it as a kid and always loved it. Then I saw our head girl from school become a What Now presenter (Gem Knight!) and I was like daaaamn that is sooo cooool. Couldn’t believe my luck when it all happened seven years later

Best piece of advice I ever received as a teen was:

Easy - do what makes you happy! I’m always grateful I was surrounded by family and friends who supported me when I chose to continue performing. Sometimes there are pressures (especially around uni) to pursue something more academic, but I feel like if you make your decisions based on YOUR wants then you are starting in the right place!

My biggest fashion faux-pas as a teenager was:

Surely the mullet skirt? The ones that are really short at the front but long at the back? They were so in… but now, I could NEVER!

My first job was:

I was a waitress in a hotel in Christchurch! Started when I was 15… always the super early Sunday morning shift…

My biggest inspiration was:

If we’re talking life wise, I think I have to say my two older sisters! They are funny, kind and all round great people. But if we’re talking celeb… this is so odd, but gotta be Catherine Tate! I just loved all her characters on the Catherine Tate show and I feel like she’s the reason I enjoy acting haha.

One thing I love about Gen Z is:

Gen Z is such an accepting generation right? I feel like teens are encouraged to be themselves more and don’t judge anyone for being different to them.
