Billie’s Changing of the Season Faves.

Welcome to the time of year where we’re in that weird in-between of the seasons, we’re still getting the odd lush warm post-Summer day but Autumn is lurking and reminding us that winter is coming. Last week New Zealand’s South Island celebrated a 30°C degree day, the next day up in Auckland I was considering putting my electric blanket back on the bed for the season.

If you didn’t know, Billie’s Founder/Editor Fleur is currently living and working over the other side of the world in London– while the rest of the Billie team is based back home in Aotearoa New Zealand. So while we’re about to head into the cooler months, Fleur is about to celebrate the warmer season with picnics in Hyde Park.

To send Fleur on her merry way into Spring and Summer, and to help us back home to cling onto every single warmer day and soak up the sun until Winter has got its cold grips on us, Billie has compiled our favourite ‘changing of the season’ favourites.

Crocs Getaway Platform Flip.

RRP: $99.99

It’s not too late to get out your dawgs, and we have been reaching for our Crocs Getaway Platform Flips throughout the summer. Available in a range of cute colours, the “feels like nothing at all” technology and cushioned base will provide day-long comfort (more so than your traditional jandal, the cushioned base really is lush).

The only thing that would make them better would be the ability to personalise them up a storm with Croc charms, but that would take away from the ultra-light feel these flips have that make you not want to take them off at all.

Max and Louie Hydrashield.

RRP: $52.00

SP50 Setting Spray!! This absolutely RULES, and blew my mind the second it arrived at my door care of the legends at Life Pharmacy’s Beauty by Life team. It’s no secret that New Zealand’s sun can be pretty harsh, so you should always have an SPF product in your beauty arsenal and this is an amazing way of delivering sun protection on top of your makeup look. Plus, you can easily re-apply with a spray– a benefit that sunblock doesn’t deliver. Available from Life Pharmacy.

Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System.

RRP: $549.99

My hair goal this summer has been to grow her all out, and the best way to do that is to reduce the amount of harmful heat you’re applying to your hair. This has meant I’ve reached less for my hair straightener, and more for my Shark Flexstyle.

I’ve been super happy with how shiny and healthy my blowouts look with the brush tools, and have been finding that I haven’t wanted to even touch up my hair with a straightener after drying it from wet. Plus when I’ve been caught in the unexpected, sudden Autumn rain, I’m able to give it a quick dry when I get home to ensure my blowout survives a few days more.

Hada Labo Tokyo.

RRP: $40.00

Did you know from late March to early May in Japan, tourists worldwide flock to Japan for ‘Hanami’, the cherry blossom viewing festival. This is a bucket-list for me, so to bring a bit of hanami to home Billie has been trying Japan’s #1 Skincare range to keep us hydrated as we head into the cooler months.

Introducing Hada Labo Tokyo, with one of their No 1 Super Hydrator Lotions sold every three seconds, you know it’ll be good. Featuring “super hylauronic acid”, their hydrating skincare essentials range delivers a beautiful burst of hydration through the change of the season.

Ultimate Ears MINIROLL Speaker.

RRP: $99.00

I’ve been loving sitting outside on the deck over the summer, it’s been my favourite place to bang out some work or just plain rot on my phone and doom scroll. I find I’m the most productive with music, and UE’s range of waterproof outdoor-friendly speakers are always a year-round solution.

While we love the power of our MEGABOOM, UE have released these cute coloured mini speakers that are sure to still pack a punch. The best thing about the MINIROLL is that ‘it’s so portable, it’s wearable’, with a strap that can clip onto just about anything.

Please just don’t be one of those people blasting your music on the bus, no one likes them.
