Top 10 Nostalgic Movies + Shows for 00's kids.

With cold, dark evenings and more time spent inside cosied up in front of the heat pump, it’s safe to say we’ll all be in need of some pick-me-up films and TV shows to cure that cabin fever.

What better time to revisit some forgotten classics?

Here are ten nostalgic throwback movies and shows for 00’s kids to make your next binge watch wayyy easier!

Hannah Montana.

(the show and the movie).

Hannah Montana is 100% a must rewatch, even if it’s just the movie. Or, even if it’s just the part of the movie where Taylor Swift sings Crazier (instant playlist add!).

You can find both of these on Disney+!

H2O: Just Add Water.

Finding a 2000’s gal that didn’t grow up watching H2O is a rarity, but if you’ve yet to watch, first of all, what have you been doing all your life? Second, you might’ve already been exposed to it without knowing - the famous CLEORRR trend on Tik Tok, anyone?

You can find seasons 1-3 of H2O on Netflix!

Total Drama Island.

An animated, lighthearted classic! This show (and its many spin offs) were a staple in my childhood viewing. If you haven’t heard of it, basically, a bunch of teens are sent to an island to compete on a challenge show, but the challenges are, in simple terms, very dangerous and probably super illegal. It sure does make for entertaining television, though!

You can find seasons 1-7 of Total Drama Island on Netflix, or alternatively, their official YouTube channel has every single episode uploaded - Go nuts!

High School Musical.

Undebatable classic. This would be a perfect watch for a friends night in. You could even make a game out of it: whoever hasn’t lost their voice from singing during the last three movies LOSES because they clearly don’t possess the necessary Wildcats spirit!

You can find all three High School Musical movies, plus High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (for all the Olivia Rodrigo fans <3) on Disney+!

Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.

I was a little older when I discovered this movie, but all I could think while watching was ‘omg. Where has this been all my life’. When heartthrob Robbie turns up to school, Georgia turns her world upside down to become part of his life. SO funny, SO cringey (in the best, most relatable way possible), a definite must watch if you haven’t already!

YouTube has Angus, Thongs available for rent!

The Suite Life On Deck.

No one’s saying that the original Suite Life wasn’t good… it’s just that Suite Life On Deck is so much better! The Sprouse twins' antics, but now on a boat? Keep talking!

You can find this on Disney+!

Freaky Friday.

(Lindsay Lohan version, obv).

This is a little bit of an older movie, but I remember being literally OBSESSED with it growing up. On my weekly trip to the video shop, I rented it almost every week without fail. Basically, Anna (Lindsay Lohan) and her mum (the amazing Jamie Lee Curtis) switch bodies, just one day before the mother’s wedding. If you’re a fan of Y2K style and DRAMA, this is defo the movie for you!

You can find it on Disney+!

Camp Rock.

This movie (and its sequel) made me desperately want to go to an American summer camp.

Totally a must-watch, the music will have you saying 'they're really good!' (you’ll get that after watching, don’t worry).

Camp Rock 1 and 2 are available on Disney+!

Sonny With A Chance.

Sonny With a Chance is 100% one of the most underrated classic Disney shows. It follows Demi Lovato’s character Sonny through their challenges in being the new person on ‘So Random!’, which is basically teen-SNL. It’s super funny, has really loveable characters, and is only 2 seasons long, perfect bingeing length - what’s not to love?

Sonny With a Chance can be found on Disney+!

ANY of the Harry Potter films.

I don’t know about you guys, but Harry Potter is my ultimate cosy Winter watch. There’s no better feeling than curling up under a blanket with some popcorn… annnd not leaving my nest until I’ve watched all eight films.

You can find all of the Harry Potter movies (PLUS the exclusive documentary, which did NOT make me cry, I just had allergies while watching…) on Neon!
