Get the look: ghd iD.

We all wish we could create that chic salon look at home but unfortunately we weren’t all blessed with a bottomless money pit.

While your hairdresser will always be the GOAT when it comes to making you look a million bucks, you can still get pretty close at home.

With these step-by-step guides, patience, practice and a great styler (cough ghd cough), you can learn to get the look all by your-amazing-self.


Smooth Curls.

Create Rachel Green's iconic 90's hairstyle with Jessie (@jessiemaealonzo) and the limited edition ghd gold® hair straightener in fresh lilac.

Step 1: Prep Hair

Mist hair with the ghd bodyguard - heat protect spray.

Step 2: Section the Hair

Separate the hair into small 2-inch sections.

Step 3: Create Tension

Place the ghd tail comb into the hair and stretch down 2 inches to create tension, follow with the styler placed horizontally into the hair.

Step 4: Turn and Travel

Rotate the styler a quarter turn and glide straight out from the head until reaching the ends of the hair. 

Step 5: Turn Inwards

Rotate the styler a quarter turn to form a curve at the ends of the hair.

Step 6: Continue

Continue this technique for all sections of the hair.

Step 7: Add Curve

To add a curve to bangs, pull the hair into a curve and tap with the styler to hold the shape.

Step 8: Finish

Complete the look by misting the hair with the ghd perfect ending - final fix hairspray.


Beachy Body Waves.

Get Gabby's (@gabbymorr) bouncy curls with the limited edition ghd original hair straightener in soft pink. 

Step 1: Prep Hair

Mist damp hair with the ghd bodyguard - heat protect spray, then blowdry.

Step 2: Section the Hair

Separate the hair into 2-inch sections.

Step 3: Place Hair in Styler and Angle

Place the ghd original styler diagonally into the hair, starting at the root.

Step 4: Rotate and Travel

Glide the styler down the hair from root to tip, rotating the styler a full turn as you travel. 

Step 5: Continue

Continue this technique across each section of the hair, always turning away from the face.

Step 6: Dress

Use the ghd detangling comb to dress out the hair and form glossy, beachy waves.

Step 7: Finish

Add 1-2 pumps of ghd dramatic ending - smooth & finish serum to the palm of your hands. 

Step 8: Serum

Apply the serum to mid-lengths and ends of the hair for a sleek, smooth finish.


Snatched Waves.

Style snatched half-up half down curls with Marta (@martalosito), with the limited edition ghd gold styler and ghd helios™ hair dryer in fresh lilac.

Step 1: Prep Hair

Mist hair with the ghd pick me up - root lift spray.

Step 2: Blow Dry

Blow dry the hair at the root for added volume. 

Step 3: Section the Hair

Separate the hair into sections.

Step 4: Place the Styler Vertically

Angle the styler vertically into the hair with the nose pointing down. 

Step 5: Rotate and Glide

Rotate the styler one full turn in the hair, curling away from the face and glide straight down until you reach the ends.

Step 6: Continue

Continue this technique, always turning the styler away from the face.

Step 7: Dress

Use a detangling comb to dress out the curls to form beachy waves.

Step 8: High Pony

Leaving out the bangs, section with a comb and brush up the top section of hair from in front of the ear into a high pony. Tie the hair up into a half ponytail and secure in place with an elastic.
