Kim Crossman shares her top travel tips.
As a seasoned traveller, making regular trips for work between America and New Zealand, Kim Crossman knows a thing or two about travel.
Here she shares with Billie a few helpful tips that have made plane travel more comfortable and more enjoyable!
Spray your neck pillow with pillow mist or lavender spray to help relax you
Download some episodes of TV or podcasts or a movie to your device incase there isn’t anything you are excited to watch on the plane or if you are travelling domestically there may not be an entertainment option.
I always travel with a double headphone adaptor plug. If I am travelling with friends or family and you want to watch the same thing this is much more comfortable than sharing headphones or only using one earbud.
Take some snacks. I always travel with little hot sauce sachets, an avocado and a few snacks to enhance my plane meal or incase I get peckish. Always dispose of any food items on the plane before disembarking - New Zealand customs is incredibly strict and won’t think twice before giving you a fine.
Pack under eye masks so when you land and look refreshed.
Where possible, order a special meal. Most airlines offer special meals that can be ordered ahead of time. These come out before the other meal service meaning you can eat and pack away and use the bathroom etc while everyone is still seated (no lines yay!)
Wear comfy clothes. Dress for comfort when flying, because sitting in skinny jeans for 12 hours is not it… Some airlines can get hot and others freezing so make sure you have layers.
Learn your passport number and expiry off by heart or take a photo of it and store it in your phone so you don’t have to get out your passport and risk leaving it on the plane if you are filling out arrival cards.
Pack a charger and USB cord. You don’t want to land in a new spot with no battery! Most airlines have USB ports to charge your device on the plane.
Drink water!!! Flying is one of the most dehydrating things you can do so make sure to drink all the water you can.
Hopefully this helps and gets you all sorted for your next trip!!
