How to get a Pinterest wardrobe on a budget.

When scrolling through Pinterest, everyone at some point has pinned a post for inspiration with hopes that they will one day get around to creating a Pinterest-worthy space. Well Molly Cochrane (@mollycocksiee) did it, bringing her Pinterest vision to life by maximising her space and repurposing products from Bunnings Warehouse, making a bespoke wardrobe that even Blair Waldorf would be envious of.

Molly is a lifestyle content creator who loves sharing all things fashion, fitness, food and fun; she recently purchased her dream home with her brother and has spent weeks curating the perfect mood board of inspiring wardrobe spaces that would replace her open clothing racks in her bedroom. Molly completely transformed her room with the help of Bunnings to create a Pinterest-worthy wardrobe, while sticking to a budget. Not only has Molly created an aesthetically pleasing wardrobe, but she has also found a storage solution that keeps her clothes and shoes organised.

Before.

Home organisation trends have skyrocketed since the pandemic, likely due to the amount of time spent at home, with not much to do. Organising and de-cluttering can also bring a feeling of calm and order during uncertain and stressful times.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, over a quarter of New Zealanders have either added to or improved their home storage and almost half have completed a DIY project, according to Bunnings* research.

To achieve her ultimate wardrobe, Molly repurposed the Flexi Storage and Kaboodle products from Bunnings to transform her room. Flexi Storage units are built-in wardrobe units that create functional and adjustable shelves and drawer space, they come with multiple configurations so you can find the right one to fit your space.  While Kaboodle cabinets are originally made for the kitchen, Molly made them her own by stacking them on top of the Flexi Storage units to take advantage of the space her high ceilings provided.

After.

Molly’s wardrobe features in her Insta and TikTok content, which just under 2 million people have viewed to see how she created her dreamy set up.

In one of her reels she shares the final reveal of the wardrobe and it is difficult to imagine that there was ever just a clothes rack hanging in her bedroom.

David Welch, Decorator Category Manager at Bunnings, says, “Molly has done an amazing job with her wardrobe DIY project. The before and after photos are impressive and it’s great to see how she’s personalised it with hardware and trim that matches her style.  Bunnings has a wide range of affordable storage solutions and accessories, so no matter what your budget or the size of the space you are working with, you’ll find something that suits. Ask one of our team in store to help you with your project and they’ll find you what you need to build and decorate it.”
