My Version: Jillian Nguyen.

New

My Version chats to Kiwi stars and people of influence to give a glimpse into their time as a teen and see the things they are currently obsessed with!

Say hello to actress Jillian Nguyen who plays Carolyn in the new film Millie Lies Low.

Obsessed RN.

Currently bingeing:

Julia on HBO MAX and The Mindy Project. Both fabulous, female led productions

Song on repeat:

‘On the Low’- Burna Boy. All the feelings when I hear it every time 💛

Favourite Insta account to follow:

Viola Davis - my queen!!! She posts the most positive, funny and inspiring things.

Must have beauty product:

50+ sunscreen and hydrating moisturiser 🦋

The item of clothing I’m definitely over wearing:

Melbourne based ‘sister studios’ - cucumber green cap (I love hats a lot)

Snacking on:

I don’t really snack - I just indulge. This past week I’ve been eating homemade, Bulgarian fried dough called ‘Mekitsi’ - and it’s absolutely one of the most delicious desserts I’ve ever had in my life. Heaven in your mouth 💕

Can’t stop watching on TikTok:

I don’t use TikTok- Insta is overwhelming enough

Dreaming of:

My next dream director to work with ✨

Next place on the list to travel to:

South Korea

I’m currently inspired by:

The brave men and women in Iran who are fighting for their freedom.

My favourite way to relax is:

Swimming in the sea and camping in nature with someone I love.

I stay healthy by:

Doing Pilates, riding my bike and being happy and in my power.

When I was younger…

If I could give my teenage self one bit of advice, what would it be:

Don’t worry about boys! Focus on yourself. Don’t be afraid and know that you can make any dream you have come true 💕

My dream job as a teen was:

To be the female lead in a show like The OC or One Tree Hill.

Best piece of advice I ever received as a teen was:

‘Keep believing in yourself’- when I was 17, I met Anton Enus, an Aussie newsreader who I grew up watching. I wanted to be in front of the camera but I didn’t know where to begin. He was so kind to me and wrote me these words on a piece of paper I still have on my wall today.

My biggest fashion faux-pas as a teenager was:

I have no fashion regrets.

My first job was:

Front of house and drive through at McDonald’s! Best job for a teenager ever! I want my future kids to work at McDonalds for a first job too.

My biggest inspiration was:

Books and film and music; my dreamworlds.

One thing I love about Gen Z is:

How informed and how (not all) open minded they are.
